Full Job Description

Job Summary

Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional working from 2:15 PM to 9:00 PM! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, cognitive impairments, and age-related needs. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a safe, supportive environment where residents can thrive. You’ll assist with daily activities, promote independence, and foster meaningful interactions, making a positive difference in their lives every day.

Responsibilities

Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes or signs of distress.
Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines.
Engage residents in recreational activities, socialization, and therapeutic programs to enhance their well-being.
Practice safe manual handling techniques during resident transfers and lifts to prevent injury.
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, health updates, and behavioral observations.
Ensure a clean, safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation.

Qualifications

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or residential care environments is highly preferred.
Certification in CPR and first aid is required; ongoing training is supported.
Ability to operate a standard passenger car for community outings or appointments.
Experience working with individuals with developmental or cognitive disabilities is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist residents with mobility needs safely.
