Overview

We are an established, independent automotive dealership alongside a full collision repair operation looking for an experienced Collision Center Operations Director to take full responsibility of the day-to-day operation of our collision business.

This is NOT simply a production manager or estimator position.

We are looking for a proven leader who can successfully run the Collision Center as a business within the EMC Companies ecosystem—leading the team, processes, production, profitability, customer experience, marketing, SEO and healthy growth of the department from a stand alone approach.

Our collision operation has been in operation for over 40 years, is already an important and profitable part of our company. The opportunity is to take a successful operation while scaling and make it significantly better within today's competitive industry.

Ownership is looking to fill a leadership type role - one who can evaluate the existing operation, strategize, develop the team, implement proven processes and execute with full accountability.

What You'll Own

The CC Operations Director will have responsibility for the overall performance of the Collision Center, including:

Day-to-day collision center operations
Identifying opportunities for additional volume and growth
Revenue, gross profit and overall department accountability
Production flow and repair scheduling
Estimating techniques and repair planning processes
Technician and overall body shop productivity
Parts coordination and supplements
Cycle time and touch time efficiency
Oversee work-in-process management
Staffing, hiring, training, and employee accountability
Customer communication and reviews including CSI
Quality control
Insurance and DRP relationships
Vendor relationships
Facility organization, cleaniness and operational standards
KPI development, tracking, and reporting

Your First 90 Days

We are not looking for someone to walk in on Monday and start changing everything on Tuesday.

Your initial responsibility will be to learn the EMC CC operation.

During your first 1-30 days, we expect you to evaluate our staff, workflow, processes, numbers, bottlenecks, strengths, and opportunities while building a development plan..

From there (days 31-90), you'll begin executing an operational plan designed to improve:

Growth. Production. Efficiency. Profitability. Accountability. Customer Experience.

You will have the authority and support necessary to make meaningful improvements while reporting to ownership to establish priorities and begin implementing improvements.

Who We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate has significant collision industry experience and has successfully managed a high-performing body shop or collision operation.

You should understand both the technical side of collision repair and the business side of running a profitable operation.

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in areas such as:

Collision center management
Multi-shop or high-volume collision operations
Production management
Repair planning / blueprinting
Insurance and DRP relationships
KPI-driven management
Technician productivity
Cycle-time improvement
Financial and gross-profit management
Recruiting, hiring and developing employees
CCC ONE or a similar collision management system

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is personable and knows how to lead people and execute.

The goal is simple:

Build a collision center that performs at a high level without requiring ownership to manage its day-to-day operation.

Ownership will establish expectations, provide resources, review performance, and hold you accountable—but the day-to-day operation will be yours to run.

For an experienced collision professional who has wanted the opportunity to truly build and lead an operation, this could be an excellent fit.

Compensation: Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentive opportunity. Compensation will be based on experience and demonstrated ability.

Job Type: Full-time

Experience Required: Strong collision center/body shop management leadership experience.
