ABOUT FLIGHT SOCCER
Flight Soccer is building a new kind of soccer entertainment experience bringing together soccer, technology, food & beverage, games, events, and community under one roof.
Our goal is simple: give every customer a great experience every time they visit.
We are an early stage startup, which means this is more than a traditional management position. We are looking for someone who wants to help build something from the ground up, create a great team culture, and play a meaningful role in shaping how Flight Soccer operates and grows.
If you love soccer, enjoy working with people, thrive in a fast paced environment, and want the opportunity to help build a new business, we want to hear from you.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a General Manager who is a hands on leader, a great people manager, and an operator at heart.
You should be someone who naturally takes ownership. You see something that needs to be done and take action rather than waiting to be asked.
You understand that a great venue is built around its people and its customers. You know how to hire the right team, train them, hold them accountable, and create an environment where people enjoy coming to work.
Most importantly, you genuinely care about the customer experience.
THE ROLE
The General Manager will lead the day-to-day operation of the Flight Soccer venue and will be responsible for the overall performance of the business.
You will oversee our employees, guest experience, soccer activities, entertainment, food & beverage, events, facility operations, and customer service.
This is a hands on leadership role. You will spend significant time on the floor with customers and employees.
You will work closely with the ownership team to establish operating procedures, build the team, launch new programs, and continuously improve the business.
Because Flight Soccer is a startup, the ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys solving problems, and is excited by the opportunity to build systems that don't yet exist.
This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak periods and special events.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
LEAD THE VENUE
- Take ownership of the overall day-to-day operation of the venue.
- Ensure the facility is clean, organized, safe, welcoming, and operating at a high standard.
- Be visible and engaged on the floor with customers and employees.
- Make decisions quickly and effectively when operational issues arise.
- Establish and maintain operating procedures that create consistency across the venue.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and the customer experience.
- Help create the operating playbook for Flight Soccer as we grow.
CREATE AN EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
- Make customer experience the highest priority throughout the venue.
- Set the standard for how customers are welcomed, served, and treated.
- Ensure activities, games, food & beverage, events, and other experiences operate smoothly.
- Monitor customer feedback and address issues quickly and professionally.
- Personally interact with customers and understand what they love—and what can be improved.
- Develop a culture where every employee understands that they own the customer experience.
- Turn first-time visitors into repeat customers and loyal members.
BUILD AND LEAD THE TEAM
- Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees.
- Build a strong leadership team capable of running the venue effectively.
- Create clear expectations, responsibilities, and performance standards.
- Schedule employees appropriately based on expected business volume.
- Develop training programs and onboarding procedures.
- Recognize strong performance and address performance issues directly.
- Create a positive, energetic, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
- Develop future leaders within the organization.
RUN THE BUSINESS
- Monitor revenue, labor, expenses, and profitability.
- Understand the key financial drivers of the venue.
- Review sales and operating reports and identify trends.
- Manage labor efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Help establish budgets, sales targets, and operating goals.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through events, memberships, leagues, partnerships, and other programs.
- Work with ownership to develop strategies for growing the business.
GROW THE FLIGHT SOCCER COMMUNITY
- Build relationships with local soccer clubs, schools, businesses, youth organizations, and community groups.
- Help develop leagues, tournaments, camps, parties, corporate events, and other programs.
- Develop partnerships that bring new customers to the venue.
- Represent Flight Soccer within the local soccer and business communities.
- Help establish Flight Soccer as a destination for soccer, entertainment, and community.
EVENTS & SPECIAL ACTIVATIONS
- Oversee the successful execution of birthday parties, corporate events, tournaments, leagues, camps, and special events.
- Ensure events are properly staffed and executed.
- Work with the team to create memorable experiences for event guests.
- Identify opportunities to create new events and revenue streams.
- Be personally involved in major events and high-volume periods.
FACILITY, SAFETY & OPERATIONS
- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming facility.
- Ensure equipment, games, technology, and facility amenities are operating properly.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs when necessary.
- Establish and enforce safety procedures.
- Ensure employees follow company policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain appropriate incident reporting and operational records.
- Work with vendors and service providers as needed.
THE TYPE OF LEADER WE WANT:
Customer Obsessed
You genuinely care about people and understand that the experience is the product.
Hands On
You aren't afraid to jump in. If the venue is busy, you're on the floor helping the team.
Team Builder
You know how to find great people, develop them, motivate them, and create a team that wants to win together.
Accountable
You take ownership of outcomes. You don't make excuses or wait for someone else to solve the problem.
Entrepreneurial
You enjoy building something new and are comfortable operating without a perfectly defined playbook.
Problem Solver
Things will go wrong. You stay calm, figure out what happened, and find a solution.
Soccer Passionate
You don't have to be a professional player, but you should genuinely enjoy soccer and understand why people love the game.
High Energy
Flight Soccer is designed to be fun, energetic, and social. Our GM should bring that same energy to the team and the customer experience.
