Full Job Description

Overview
Twin Cities based sales office for premier manufacturers of boiler auxiliary, process, and industrial safety equipment seeking a self-motivated and results- driven Technical Outside Sales Representative to join our team. The Technical Outside Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in the Twin Cities, MN. This role is responsible for managing and growing our customer accounts and providing exceptional customer service. Day-to-day activities include visiting customer facilities, understanding technical requirements, preparing quotations, and coordinating with manufacturers to provide accurate product information and timely support. The Sales Representative will conduct product presentations and training, respond to customer inquiries, and assist in resolving issues related to equipment selection, installation, and operation. The role also involves maintaining detailed records of sales activities, forecasting opportunities, and contributing to regional sales strategies.

Responsibilities:

Experience in technical outside sales, including understanding and communicating technical product features and benefits
Experience delivering product training, demonstrations, and educational sessions to customers
Ability to learn and apply industrial and process equipment applications, particularly boiler auxiliary and safety systems
Willingness to travel for on-site customer visits within the upper Midwest region
Proficiency with common business software, including CRM tools, email, spreadsheets, and presentation software
Conduct outside sales activities to generate leads and close new business opportunities.
Manage existing and new accounts to ensure customer satisfaction
Develop and implement territory management strategies to maximize sales potential.
Engage in cold calling and direct sales efforts to expand the customer base.
Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, addressing any inquiries or concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

Relevant technical or business education (e.g., bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or business)
Proven experience in industrial, process, or mechanical equipment outside sales is required.
Strong account management skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships.
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
Strong analytical skills to assess market conditions and identify opportunities for growth.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Outgoing personality, with Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Candidate must have reliable vehicle as this position requires 30%-40% travel within the upper midwest territory.
