Full Job Description

Job Summary:

Prospero Vascular and Interventional is seeking a skilled and experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse to join our team at a rapidly growing office-based clinic and minimally invasive procedural center. The RN will be responsible for providing direct patient care before, during and after evaluations and treatments, maintaining a safe and sterile environment, and assisting with surgical procedures under the direction of the interventional radiologist as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Gather patient clinical information prior to procedures including patient assessments and patient history
Prepare the operating room for procedures, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and functioning properly.
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and prepping, maintaining a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide support as needed, including passing instruments and other supplies safely.
Monitor patient vital signs, anesthesia levels, and overall condition throughout the procedure, communicating any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
Document all aspects of patient care and intraoperative events accurately and in a timely manner.
Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards to minimize the risk of surgical site infections and other complications.
Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room, ensuring a smooth transition to the recovery area.
Assist in recovery room patient care following vascular procedures
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to enhance clinical skills and patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

Valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of California.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in perioperative nursing, with specific conscious sedation/PACU experience in interventional radiology, or Cath Lab preferred.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
Strong technical skills and proficiency in operating room procedures, instrumentation, and equipment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team.
Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and continuous professional development.
Bilingual/fluent Spanish speakers preferred
