Full Job Description

Accounts Payable Coordinator

Location: Henderson, NV
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time
Department: Accounting

Position Summary

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk / Staff Accountant I to join our casino accounting team. This is an entry-level accounting position primarily responsible for accounts payable, with opportunities to gain experience in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

This is a great opportunity for someone with AP or bookkeeping experience, or someone early in their accounting career who wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced casino and hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Process and code vendor invoices accurately and timely.
Review invoices for proper approvals and supporting documentation.
Prepare vendor payments, including checks and electronic payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies.
Respond to vendor and internal department inquiries.
Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and assist with annual 1099 reporting.
Assist with bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Prepare routine journal entries and supporting documentation.
Assist with prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and account reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Provide documentation and schedules for audits as needed.
Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or current enrollment in an accounting-related program preferred.
1-2 years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or accounting experience preferred.
Basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to learn accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Casino, hospitality, or high-volume accounting experience is a plus but not required.

A bachelor's degree is not required.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, and interested in growing their accounting knowledge. The right candidate should be comfortable asking questions, researching discrepancies, and understanding why transactions are recorded rather than simply repeating prior-month processes.

As the employee develops, the position will have opportunities to take on additional Staff Accountant responsibilities, including more complex reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, variance analysis, and month-end financial reporting.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Employment may be subject to applicable Nevada gaming registration requirements.
