Radiation Therapist (RT(T))

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Radiation Therapist to join our growing oncology team. This position is responsible for delivering safe, accurate, and high-quality radiation treatments while working collaboratively with Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and nursing staff to provide exceptional cancer care.

Our practice utilizes Varian linear accelerators and the Varian Ethos™ Adaptive Radiation Therapy platform, offering therapists the opportunity to work with advanced image-guided and adaptive treatment technologies that improve precision and patient outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments safely and accurately using Varian linear accelerators and the Varian Ethos™ Adaptive Radiation Therapy System.
Perform daily patient setup and verification using image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) techniques.
Participate in adaptive radiation therapy workflows, including image acquisition, patient positioning, and treatment delivery utilizing Ethos technology.
Verify treatment parameters and ensure compliance with physician prescriptions and departmental quality assurance standards.
Monitor patients during treatment, assess for concerns or adverse reactions, and communicate findings to the Radiation Oncologist and clinical team.
Educate patients and their families regarding treatment procedures, expectations, and potential side effects.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records, treatment documentation, and billing information.
Collaborate closely with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and support staff to ensure exceptional patient care.
Perform routine equipment quality checks and report any operational concerns.
Adhere to all state, federal, OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety regulations.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
Current ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)).
Current Nevada (or ability to obtain) Radiation Therapist license.
Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
Experience with Varian TrueBeam and/or Ethos Adaptive Radiation Therapy is highly preferred but not required.
New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Cone Beam CT (CBCT)
Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)
Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT)
Respiratory Motion Management
Previous oncology or hospital-based radiation therapy experience preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

Thorough understanding of radiation oncology principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards and quality assurance procedures.
Ability to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary oncology team.
