Full Job Description

Receptionist/ Kennel Technician
Animal Protection League (APL) is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant/receptionist/ kennel technician with opportunities for growth within our organization.

If you're passionate about making a difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them, we'd love to meet you. As a nonprofit organization, APL is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation while providing high-quality preventative veterinary care throughout East Texas.

Because our organization continues to grow, we are looking to add another team member to our staff. This is a cross-trained position, meaning employees are trained to assist as a receptionist, and kennel technician. We are not hiring for individual roles.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fast-paced, high-volume environment, values accuracy, and provides expectational customer service. Our mobile clinics travel to 42 communities across East Texas, so flexibility is essential. Team members can expect shifts ranging from approximately 8 to 12 hours, Monday through Saturday, with much of the work performed outdoors alongside our mobile veterinary units.

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to stand/walk more than 65% of the time and lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Understands the impact that each client interaction has on overall customer experience.
- Must also be passionate about APL's mission and community education while leading by example, which is helping to control the pet population by having their personal pets spayed/neutered and not participating in breeding of animals.

This is a full-time position that includes working early mornings and Saturdays. We strive to provide each team member with one Saturday off each month whenever scheduling allows. Employees receive up to 12 days unpaid leave each calendar year that may be requested in advance.
