Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietitian to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical nutrition, with expertise in patient assessment, nutrition therapy, and care planning. This role involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to develop individualized nutrition plans, providing nutritional counseling, and supporting patients across various care settings. The Dietitian will play a vital role in promoting optimal health outcomes through evidence-based nutritional interventions.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine nutritional needs and develop tailored care plans.
Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients with diverse dietary requirements, including those with chronic diseases, geriatrics, or specific medical conditions.
Implement medical nutrition therapy (MNT) for patients requiring specialized interventions such as tube feeding or nutritional support.
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into overall patient care strategies.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting nutrition plans as necessary based on diagnostic evaluations and clinical outcomes.
Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems to document assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately.
Supervise dietetic interns or junior staff members while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and standards of practice.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field; registration as a licensed Dietitian is required.
Valid registration (or eligible for registration) as a Registered Dietitian from the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a valid Nevada Dietitian License or a Nevada Dietitian Provisional License at the time of hire. A registration-eligible dietitian must pass the registration exam within six (6) months of hire and will work under the supervision of a registered dietitian (notes are co-signed) until exam results are determined.
Proven experience working in clinical settings such as hospitals or long-term care facilities.
Strong knowledge of physiology, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and dietary management for chronic diseases and geriatrics.
Experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
Proficiency in conducting nutritional analysis and diagnostic evaluation of patients’ dietary needs.
Demonstrated skills in health coaching, motivational interviewing, and client communication techniques.
Supervising experience within dietary or clinical nutrition departments is preferred.
Familiarity with tube feeding protocols, nutrition support practices, and acute care environments is highly desirable. Join our team to make a meaningful difference by delivering expert nutritional care that enhances patient recovery and well-being!
