Learning Support Teacher

We partner with families in raising children who love the Lord and are equipped to fulfill their God-given purpose.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Support Teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will have a heart for serving students, a passion for inclusive education, and a commitment to integrating a biblical worldview into their teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and learning strategies tailored to students’ needs.
Help run the IST & Data team meetings
Maintain documentation on student caseloads at MCS
Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to support students in achieving academic success.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learners.
Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas requiring additional support.
Foster a nurturing environment that promotes confidence and independence in learning.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and strategies for support at home.
Helps facilitate benchmark assessments and progress monitoring
Maintain documentation for local school district IEP, evaluation reports and re-evaluation timelines. Schedule meetings with parents and record information from Integrated Support Team (IST) meetings.
Advocate for students with learning needs and ensure they are fully included in the life of the school.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
Consistent collaboration with the building Principal to discuss student support servicing.
Develop intervention plans and assess performance during the intervention time frame.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field.
State teaching certification in Special Education or a related area. ACSI certification is also acceptable.
Demonstrated faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with the school’s statement of faith.
Experience working with students with learning differences, including behavioral health.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with assistive technology and evidence-based teaching strategies.
A commitment to fostering a Christ-centered learning environment
Ability to read and interpret data
Highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of multi-sensory teaching techniques.
Experience with educational assessments, creating and interpreting IEP’s and experience leading Student Support Meetings
Google Cloud or Microsoft One Drive experience
