Quality Improvement Coordinator – Advanced

Use your clinical and quality-management expertise to strengthen services, improve outcomes, and support meaningful public programs across Pennsylvania.

Quality Patient Centered Services (QPCS) is seeking an experienced Quality Improvement Coordinator to support the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ Office of Long-Term Living.

This advanced-level opportunity is ideal for a licensed healthcare professional with strong experience in clinical care, quality management, auditing, corrective-action planning, staff education, and program improvement.

Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Choose the Pay Tier That Works for You

Tier 1 – W-2, benefit eligible: $25 per hour
Tier 2 – W-2, not benefit eligible: $28 per hour
1099 independent contractor: $30 per hour

Important 1099 Notice: Independent contractors are self-employed and are not eligible for employee benefits, paid time off, unemployment insurance, workers’ compensation coverage, or employer-paid payroll taxes. Independent contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and other applicable obligations.

About the Role

As a Quality Improvement Coordinator, you will help evaluate the effectiveness of the Quality Management Program, conduct reviews and audits, recommend corrective actions, and provide leadership to clinical and non-clinical staff.

Your work will support accountability, regulatory compliance, consistent service delivery, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities may include:

Reviewing and analyzing Quality Management Program reports
Identifying performance concerns, trends, and opportunities for improvement
Recommending corrective actions based on review findings
Conducting quality-management reviews and formal audits
Coordinating and overseeing staff who participate in audit activities
Evaluating compliance with established quality standards, policies, and procedures
Developing and supporting plans of correction
Monitoring corrective actions and evaluating their effectiveness
Providing leadership related to quality-management activities
Delivering in-service training to medical and non-medical staff
Educating staff on audit methodologies and corrective-action requirements
Serving as a liaison between physicians, nurses, administrators, and other stakeholders
Supporting the implementation and ongoing operation of the Quality Management Program
Preparing clear reports, findings, recommendations, and supporting documentation
Participating in committees and special assignments as required
Maintaining current professional knowledge through meetings, seminars, training sessions, and relevant literature
Supporting additional quality-improvement initiatives as assigned

Advanced-Level Expectations

The selected professional should be capable of:

Providing guidance on quality-management standards and procedures
Leading complex audits and quality reviews
Answering questions related to audit methodology and corrective-action planning
Troubleshooting quality, compliance, and performance concerns
Interpreting findings and recommending practical improvements
Coordinating the work of staff participating in reviews
Communicating effectively with clinical and non-clinical professionals
Managing multiple quality initiatives with accuracy and sound judgment
Promoting accountability and continuous improvement

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have:

A current and valid Pennsylvania nursing license or an equivalent Pennsylvania professional license approved by the Commonwealth
At least three years of professional clinical experience
At least two years of quality-improvement experience within a multifaceted, formal quality-management program
Experience conducting audits or quality-management reviews
Knowledge of corrective-action planning and performance improvement
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
The ability to train and support medical and non-medical personnel
The ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, administrators, and other stakeholders
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
The ability to provide verifiable education, training, licensure, and employment history

Technical Requirements

Candidates should have:

Strong computer proficiency
Working knowledge of word-processing applications
Experience using, maintaining, and managing databases
The ability to analyze data and prepare accurate reports
The ability to learn and use program-specific technology and reporting systems

Additional position-specific screening, clearances, or training may be required.
