Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthopedic Charge Entry / Coder to join our in-office team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate medical billing and coding for orthopedic surgical procedures, with a particular focus on spinal surgeries. The ideal candidate will possess experience in surgical spinal coding, along with a comprehensive understanding of medical coding guidelines, insurance claim processing, and revenue cycle management. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment dedicated to precise billing practices and optimal financial performance.

Responsibilities

Review office dictation, operative reports and appropriately code all office, ancillary and surgical charges.
Manually enter charges into the practice management system.
Attend regular meetings with physicians and staff to review coding updates and denial trends.
Audit and process charges on submitted, denied and approved claims for accuracy.
Assist collection staff with writing and submitting appeals.
Provide backup for other areas of the business office as needed.
Assist with special projects as requested.

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
