Full Job Description

Pharmacy Coordinator / Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Part-Time | Hourly

Location: Greensboro, NC

Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week to start, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time schedule as our roster of providers expands

Compensation: $22.00–$26.00 per hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

Piedmont Partners for Mental Health, PLLC (PPMH) is seeking a qualified and motivated Pharmacy Coordinator / Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our outpatient psychiatric practice in Greensboro, North Carolina. This part-time position plays a vital role in supporting psychiatric providers through direct patient care and comprehensive medication coordination services in a collaborative, patient-centered environment. The role is expected to begin at approximately 25 hours per week and to increase in hours over time as our newer providers build their patient panels.

Key Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Coordinator / CMA will perform duties within the scope of Certified Medical Assistant practice, including but not limited to:

Providing direct patient care consistent with CMA scope of practice
Administering injections as ordered
Performing phlebotomy duties
Administering, documenting, and interpreting urine toxicology screenings
Supporting providers during patient visits and ensuring accurate clinical documentation

This role also serves as the primary coordinator for medication-related services, including:

Managing patient and pharmacy correspondence related to medication refills
Initiating, tracking, and following up on prior authorizations
Processing outside documentation required for medication approval
Communicating with outside providers and pharmacies on behalf of psychiatric providers
Ensuring timely resolution of medication-related issues

Additional responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the EHR system, assisting with training and support of newer staff as needed, maintaining CMA certification and continuing education requirements, and performing other duties as assigned to support clinic operations.

Qualifications

Required:

Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification in good standing
Experience with injections, phlebotomy, and urine toxicology screening
Experience with medication coordination and prior authorizations
Proficiency with electronic health record systems
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

Preferred:

Experience in outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health
Experience coordinating psychiatric medications
Experience assisting with staff training or workflow support

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week to start
Hours are expected to increase over time as the practice grows
Hourly wage range: $22.00–$26.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications

Benefits are prorated based on hours worked, consistent with PPMH's personnel policy for part-time staff working 20+ hours per week:
