Full Job Description

General purpose of the Job:

Preform a variety of food preparation duties other than cooking, such as preparing hot and cold foods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
Portion and wrap the food.
Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets.
Weigh or measure ingredients.
Assist chef(s) with various tasks as needed.
Receive and store food supplies, equipment and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas.
Carry food supplies, equipment and utensils to and from storage areas and work areas.
Make special dressings and sauces as condiments for sandwiches.
Use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foods.
Stir and strain soups and sauces.
Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, desserts, according to supervisors’ instructions, following approved procedures. This could include grilling.
Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers.
Wash, peel and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables to prepare for cooking or serving.
Inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items.
Load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products.
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware.
Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers.
Assists in other duties set forth by management as needed.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Reliable transportation.
Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desire to continue to gain industry knowledge and training.
Knowledge and ability to use kitchen tools such as mixers; cappuccino/expresso machines; choppers/dicers/knives; meat/cheese/tomato slicers; brick and regular ovens; and grills/smokers.
Ability to listen effectively and verbally communicate effectively to all levels.
Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
Must be able to understand basic English.
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Commitment to work over 40 hours to meet the needs of the business
Exceptional customer service skills.

Other Qualifications

Wear proper uniform which is black button-down shirt, black pants (Not Jeans), and black non-skid tennis shoes (No open-toed shoes). Shorts are allowed in summer months. Uniform must be clean and not wrinkled.
Maintain proper hygiene and grooming including but not limited to : freshly showered, clean, combed pulled back hair – hair does not need to pulled back if it is shorter than shoulder length, facial hair is trimmed, nails are clean and trimmed, perfume/cologne is used in moderation, and piercings must have studs, no dangle jewelry.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
