Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Production Cook to join our growing commercial kitchen team. In this role, you will prepare high-quality meals according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and portion specifications in a fast-paced, high-volume food production environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistency, food safety, efficiency, and exceptional meal quality across every production batch.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, able to multitask effectively, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional kitchen while working collaboratively with the culinary and production teams.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and portion specifications.
Accurately weigh, portion, and prepare ingredients to ensure consistency and quality control.
Perform batch cooking while maintaining flavor, texture, presentation, and temperature standards.
Ensure all meals meet company quality expectations before being sent to plating or packaging.
Maintain proper food handling, storage, labeling, dating, and inventory rotation procedures (FIFO).
Monitor ingredient quality and immediately report shortages, spoilage, recipe discrepancies, equipment issues, food safety concerns, or product quality concerns to management.
Assist with kitchen preparation, station setup, breakdown, cleaning, and sanitation duties.
Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, stovetops, grills, mixers, slicers, immersion blenders, and other food production equipment.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workstation throughout each shift.
Follow all company food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures.
Ensure compliance with all applicable health department regulations and internal food safety standards.
Work collaboratively with prep, plating, packaging, warehouse, and management teams to maintain efficient production flow.
Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and dependable attendance.
Perform additional kitchen and production duties as assigned by management.

Experience

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, commissary kitchen, catering kitchen, meal prep facility, food production facility, or restaurant preferred.
High-volume kitchen or food production experience is strongly preferred.
Experience with batch cooking and standardized recipe execution preferred.
Experience working in a fast-paced production environment preferred.

Qualifications

ServSafe Certification required or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP principles, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
Ability to accurately follow recipes, prep sheets, and production schedules.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency, quality, and efficiency.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
