Job Description: Clinical Supervisor

NW Counseling Associates, LLC is an outpatient mental health clinic serving the needs of children, teens
and families. As a team, our intentions are:

Position Overview:

Clinical supervisors will provide individual and group supervision, consultation and support to one or
more registered associates working towards licensure in the state of Oregon. You may also provide a
minimum of twice quarterly supervision for one or more licensed clinicians on the team. These
supervisory duties are an additional role to that of a full time licensed clinician, maintaining your own
caseload and providing clinical services.

Reports to: Heather Vliet, LPC - NCA Executive Director

Job Responsibilities:

Supervision of Registered Associates
Review and cosign all assessments and treatment plans
Review and sign updates to the assessment and treatment plan.
Review and cosign all clinical documentation (i.e. progress notes, case management and

care coordination and other).

Review samples of associate’s clinical work by video or audio recording.

Participate in or observe the associate in their clinical work in person or by secure video

conference call.

Be available either in person or by audio/video call when the associate is seeing clients.

In the clinical supervisor’s absence, another approved supervisor must be available.

Establish and consistently maintain a weekly individual supervision schedule and

document each meeting

Establish and consistently maintain a monthly group supervision schedule and document

each meeting

Provide an evaluation of clinical work to coincide with the annual reports to be completed

for licensure.

Provide mentorship and learning opportunities around core competencies such as a

clinician’s legal and ethical responsibilities, mandated reporting, risk assessment and
safety planning, and diagnosis and treatment planning

Educate about and reinforce agency policies and procedures which provide the structure

needed for ethical and legal practice.

Report concerns about the associate’s performance to NCA’s director and licensure

board when necessary. Collaborate with the associate when necessary on a performance
improvement plan.

Meet regularly with NCA Director and leadership team to discuss growth and direction of

the clinical supervision program

Supervision of Licensed Clinical Staff
Review on a quarterly basis samples of clinician’s clinical documentation (may coincide

with NCA’s internal documentation audit processes)

Establish and consistently maintain a schedule for supervision to ensure minimum

requirement of two sessions per quarter

Provide an annual evaluation of clinical work and progress towards established goals and

objectives

Provide mentorship and learning opportunities around core competencies such as a

clinician’s legal and ethical responsibilities, mandated reporting, risk assessment and
safety planning, diagnosis and treatment planning

Educate about and reinforce agency policies and procedures which provide the structure

needed for ethical and legal practice.

Report concerns about the associate’s performance to NCA’s director and licensure

Work Hours & Benefits: This is an additional paid role for eligible and currently employed clinicians at
NCA. Duties as a clinical supervisor will fall into regularly scheduled work hours and schedule. No
additional benefits other than the role-based salary will be conferred.

Clinical Supervisor Qualifications/Skills:

Fully licensed in the state of Oregon
Minimum of two years post graduate clinical experience in a mental health setting
Completion of the required 30 hour supervisor training.
Successfully pass the Board’s law and rules exam
Approved by the appropriate Oregon licensing board to provide clinical supervision

Completion of FIT Foundations training and committed to the principles of feedback informed

care in clinical practice

Models life-long learning and professional development

Range of clinical experience and training in evidence based practices in working with children,

teens and families.
