Full Job Description

Normandy Remodeling is looking for a person with experience in residential architecture and drafting to join our Architectural team. This position will work closely with Normandy’s Design/Salespeople to develop construction documents for room additions and extensive renovations, utilizing AutoCAD. As one of the largest residential design/build firms in the country, Normandy Remodeling creates additions, kitchens, and extensive renovations throughout Chicagoland. As a member of our architectural drafting team, you will work closely with our Designer/Salespeople to craft construction documents based on provided designs, and partner with our Superintendents who are ultimately responsible for building the project.

Your role as an architectural drafter will include:

Producing working drawings that meet code requirements and design expectations of designers and customers
Making revisions to drawings as required by designers/customers and building departments
Working closely with designers to provide feedback and suggestions to ensure the project meets the customer’s needs and provides maximum value to their home
Identifying potential problems in the design and proposing solutions
Work with project superintendents to help solve any issues that might arise during construction of projects

The person we’re looking to add to our team should have:

Proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience using Chief Architect is a plus
Strong drafting skills
A deep understanding of residential codes
High attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
