Full Job Description

Role:
To serve as office manager for the Science and Math building, ensuring the office functions efficiently and effectively and providing clerical support for Division Chairs, faculty, and staff.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Serve as secretarial support and office manager for the Warren L. Fouse Science and Math Building. This includes preparing requisitions and purchase orders, keeping budgets, coordinating facility usage, performing data entry, distributing mail, and other support services.
Assist faculty with purchasing, travel requests, and other support services.
Work with and supervise work study students.
Participate on College committees.
Perform reception duties by greeting students and visitors and handling telephone calls and messages within the building.

Performance Measurements:

To schedule and organize work to meet established deadlines.
To ensure that all correspondence is free of spelling, typographic and grammatical errors.
To keep all assigned files and records current and well organized.
To maintain a friendly, professional work environment and attitude when working with others.
To function as an integral member of division teams.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Education: A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (students, visitors or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.

Other Skills: Good oral and written communication, word processing, spreadsheet and database skills are required.
