Full Job Description

Position Summary

Provides administrative and patient care support within the Emergency Department. Coordinates communication among patients, families, nursing staff, physicians, and other departments while maintaining accurate records and supporting efficient department operations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain the Emergency Department log and accurately enter and verify orders in the electronic system.
Coordinate communication among physicians, nursing staff, patients, families, and other departments.
Answer telephone and intercom communications and route information appropriately.
Assist with patient care activities within the scope of the position and support nursing and medical staff as needed.
Transport specimens and assist with coordination of ancillary services.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to established standards.
Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered Emergency Department environment.
Follow hospital policies, regulatory requirements, infection prevention, and safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current BLS certification required.
Basic computer skills required.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
One (1) year of Ward Clerk experience in an acute care hospital preferred.
Associate degree/Medical Assistant education preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional languages preferred.

Job Type: Full Time, Night Shift

Pay: $27-$36/hourly
