Job Summary
The UPI Community School Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and administering the operational activities of The Education Effect university-assisted community school educational enrichment and personal development programs and services at a local partnership site (elementary, middle, or highschool). Coordinates program planning, scheduling, logistics, implementation, evaluation, data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement for academic support, enrichment, social-emotional learning, and community-connected learning initiatives. Monitors student participation and outcomes; supports staff and program contributors; and ensures program activities align with Unlimited Potential Initiative goals. Collaborates daily with the MDCPS Office of Community Enrichment Education.
- Coordinates and administers the operational activities of university-assisted expanded learning programs, including planning, scheduling, logistics, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of academic support, enrichment, and extended learning services.
- Coordinates the development and implementation of new and ongoing expanded learning programs that align with student academic, developmental, enrichment, and social-emotional learning needs.
- Works with school, university, and community partners to identify educational goals and integrate academic support, enrichment activities, community-connected classroom opportunities, and related services into expanded learning programming.
- Develops and maintains program schedules, instructional resources, operational materials, and logistical plans for after-school, extended learning, and related student support activities.
- Serves as a liaison among students, parents, school personnel, community organizations, university departments, and other stakeholders regarding expanded learning programs and services.
- Engages university students, staff, faculty, community partners, and volunteers with in-class and out-of-class expanded learning opportunities.
- Monitors student participation, academic progress, feedback, and engagement; provides academic support, enrichment opportunities, and social-emotional learning activities.
- Administers assessment tools, collects and analyzes program data, prepares reports, evaluates program effectiveness, and recommends improvements.
- Participates in professional development, training, conferences, and technical assistance opportunities related to program management, data use, community engagement, educational best practices, and partnership sustainability.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with public K-12 school systems.
- Previous experience working with students from underrepresented groups and/or first-generation college students.
- Experience presenting to small and large groups.
