Full Job Description

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. We are a busy and growing full-service restoration company. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and supporting the overall financial health of our organization. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will ensure smooth day-to-day operations and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving organization committed to excellence and integrity.

<Duties>

Record and process journal entries using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis to verify financial integrity.
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget reports.
Support governmental accounting requirements and ensure adherence to relevant regulations.
Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, including debits & credits, journal entries, and account documentation.
Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

<Requirements>

Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, preferably within corporate or non-profit sectors.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
Knowledge of bank reconciliation processes, account reconciliation techniques, and financial report writing.
Familiarity with governmental accounting practices and tax regulations is a plus.
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; ability to perform 10 key typing accurately.
Ability to analyze financial data critically and communicate findings clearly.
Experience with payroll processing, budgeting, account analysis, and technical accounting tasks preferred.
