Full Job Description

A Pioneer Valley Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a healthcare professional specializing in providing cardiovascular care and education to patients. APPs work collaboratively with cardiologists to provide medical care independently or as a part of a healthcare team.

Job Description

The EP APP will play a key role in the management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias and device therapies, working collaboratively with physicians and allied professionals. This role involves collaborating with a team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans, conduct patient assessments, and provide education and support to patients and their families.

Minimum Qualifications for Employment

Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program; current state licensure and board certification. Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or electrophysiology. Strong knowledge of arrhythmia mechanisms, device management, and EP procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of patients with cardiac arrhythmias.

· Collaborate with cardiologists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

· Educate patients and families on arrhythmias, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.

· Evaluate and manage patients with arrhythmias and cardiac implantable electronic devices in inpatient and outpatient settings.

· Perform histories, physical exams, pre- and post-procedural assessments, and develop care plans.

· Assist with diagnostic EP studies, catheter ablation, and device implantation (as first assistant, not primary operator).

· Interpret ECGs, rhythm strips, and device data; manage abnormal findings in ambulatory and remote monitoring.

· Participate in patient education, triage, and follow-up care.

· Maintain competency in sterile technique, radiation safety, and emergency response

Working Environment

PVCA APPs can work in outpatient medical settings, diagnostic testing and in hospital settings. They may also travel to different facilities to provide cardiac care services.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
