Johnny's Bar & Grille, a part of the Bean Restaurant Group family of restaurants, is located in South Hadley's Village Commons. Johnny's Bar & Grille has been serving up delicious food and drinks since 2006 and prides itself on food quality, our menu is marked by an eclectic mix of culinary influences. Compensation Band: This position earns a competitive salary of $60-65K year pending experience.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

As an assistant general manager you?ll oversee the daily operations of our restaurant and lead and inspire our front of house staff. Working closely with the general manager, you?ll coordinate the planning, organizing and training necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.

The assistant general manager is responsible and accountable for the following duties (not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive; other duties may be assigned as necessary):

Staff hiring and the performance, development, and retention of FOH employees through engagement, training, feedback, and coaching.
Embody Bean Restaurant Group core values, motivate and educate your staff to embody true hospitality, administer legendary service to maintain and attract customers.
Reviewing financial statements, overseeing FOH scheduling, maintaining inventory, and ordering supplies to ensure the restaurant is operating at peak efficiency and reaching sales goals while minimizing costs.
Ensure all safety, security, food handling, and sanitation policies are consistently executed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A team player with a hospitality first mentality and a willingness to learn
Positive attitude, ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve conflict
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Willing to accept guidance in a positive manner and implement the direction in a way that is productive for both you and the team
Self-motivated, detail oriented, and results driven
Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: Scheduling, company policies and procedures, personnel management, basic recordkeeping, point-of-sale computers and software
Ability to stand, walk and lift heavy items for extended periods of time

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two years restaurant management experience in a high volume, upscale restaurant
Experience with reservation platforms like OpenTable or Resy, Toast, 7Shifts
Basic knowledge of spirit, wine and beers.

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time position includes day and evening shifts as well as weekend shifts. Expectation is 50-55 hours per week.
