POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Support position requires competence in the full range of standard warehouse transactional tasks, including NetSuite WMS pick-pack-fill-invoice transactions, and the required use of all material handling equipment and methods. With the primary assignment in the Agency Market, the position reports to the Outbound Supervisor and is focused on outbound fulfilment activities; with full cross-training in the Inbound and food rescue processes and transactions, fluidly supports other work areas when there are imbalances in product flow through the operation.
Must accurately complete all required compliance documentation on-time, and on-quality. Supports corporate special events, periodic kit building, and essential warehouse cleaning tasks. Must be a professional front-line ambassador for Hawaii Foodbank in all interactions with donors, agencies, and other stakeholders.
The position requires a team-oriented spirit as well as a “no task too small” attitude that is necessary in a fast-paced environment. Must be flexible and adaptable to a fluid and dynamic environment, and bring a positive, can-do, attitude to daily work challenges. The position prioritizes customer service and collaboration, and can balance competing work demands with composure and accountability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Must competently operate in NetSuite with all required WMS transactions, including assisting shipping and receiving with the unloading and loading of trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Supports general warehousing work, especially in shipping and receiving. Assists with putaway, replenishment, and product move functions when needed.
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area.
- Sorts and processes materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards. Handles pallets and containers among other packaging types.
- Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory tasks, including inventory record maintenance.
- Organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times, applying 5S principles (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to maintain a productive, efficient, and safe work environment, while also reducing waste, improving workflow, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Wear the proper safety equipment and adheres to safe work practices, as trained.
- Assists in receiving stock and nonstock items for the purpose of ensuring specifications, quantity and quality of orders are correct.
- Reads Agency orders, shopping lists to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
- Moves items from receiving to salvage areas to other designated areas.
- Sorts and restocks items on racks, shelves, or pallets according to predetermined specifications.
- Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
- Weighs and/or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Records amount of items received and distributed.
- Cleans warehouse for the purpose of maintaining a safe and sanitary work area.
- Participates in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.
- Performs all functions within the scope of the warehouse operations.
- Occasionally run errands, minor pickups and deliveries.
- Comply with food safety standards and procedures, including but not limited to AIB and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct self in a professional and ethical manner at all times. Treat external and internal customers and associates with courtesy and respect.
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager of any potentially hazardous conditions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Forklift experience preferred on a variety of classes of material handling equipment.
- Minimum of a CDL-B License is required.
- High School Degree and/or some college; or 3+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages.
- Ability to apply all concepts of bookkeeping and all generally accepted accounting procedures.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
