We are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant who takes pride in organization, precision, and supporting attorneys through every phase of litigation. This is a highly valued and trusted role working closely with attorneys, clients, and courts in a professional, team-oriented environment.

This is an on-site position based at our downtown Honolulu office, supporting a professional business-hours environment Monday through Friday.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Litigation moves quickly, and this position sits at the center of case activity. On any given day, you may be preparing filings, coordinating deadlines, organizing case materials, communicating with courts and counsel, and helping attorneys stay ahead of demanding schedules.

Successful candidates are detail-oriented, adaptable, and calm under pressure. They enjoy staying busy, managing competing priorities, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

What You’ll Do

Litigation & Case Support

Prepare, format, and proofread pleadings, motions, subpoenas, correspondence, and discovery documents
File legal documents with state and federal courts electronically and in person
Maintain case files and organize litigation materials
Track deadlines, hearings, and court requirements

Attorney & Practice Support

Manage attorney calendars, meetings, and court appearances
Coordinate filings, service, and case logistics
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
Assist with billing, time entry, and administrative support

Operational Excellence

Maintain accurate document management and version control
Ensure compliance with Hawaiʻi court rules and filing procedures
Contribute to a collaborative litigation team environment

Who You Are

You understand that litigation legal assistants play a critical role in successful case management.

You are someone who:

Thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment
Manages deadlines and competing priorities with confidence
Has exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills
Communicates professionally and exercises sound judgment
Works both independently and collaboratively
Takes ownership of your work and supports your team proactively

Qualifications

Minimum two (2) years of litigation legal assistant or legal secretary experience required
Familiarity with Hawaiʻi court rules and filing procedures strongly preferred
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word formatting skills essential)
Strong organizational, grammar, and proofreading skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Notary Public license, or willingness to obtain after hire (firm supported)
Ability to occasionally work extended hours when needed
