Job Summary
The Director of Admissions is appointed by and reports directly to the Chief of Institutional Advancement and serves as the senior leader responsible for all aspects of enrollment management at Saint Louis School, an all-boys Catholic Marianist school serving grades K–12.
The Director of Admissions provides strategic vision and operational leadership for the admissions and re-enrollment programs, ensuring sustainable enrollment, mission alignment, and positive experience for prospective and current families. This role oversees recruitment, admissions operations, marketing collaboration, data analysis, budgeting, and long-range enrollment planning. The Director serves as a key ambassador for Saint Louis School within the local, national, and international community.
Duties and Responsibilities
Admissions & Enrollment Leadership
- Provide leadership and oversight for the admissions program for all new students entering grades K–12.
- Develop, implement, and continuously assess enrollment strategies to maintain capacity enrollment of qualified students.
- Work collaboratively with school leadership to support retention.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation and redesign of admissions and marketing practices to respond to enrollment trends and institutional priorities.
Recruitment & Family Engagement
- Represent Saint Louis School to prospective students and families through campus tours, interviews, open houses, school fairs, and community events.
- Ensure systematic, efficient, and mission-centered handling of all admissions processes, including:
- Application management and communication
- Candidate and parent interviews
- Admissions testing coordination.
- Collection and evaluation of student credentials
- Communication of admissions decisions
- Coordinate and lead bi-annual Open Houses for lower, middle, and high school divisions.
Feeder School & Community Relations
- Coordinate visits to and partnerships with Catholic grade schools, as well as private and public grade and intermediate schools.
- Maintain strong working relationships with counselors, teachers, administrators, and parish communities at feeder schools.
- Cultivate opportunities for feeder school faculty, administrators, parents, former parents, and alumni to support recruitment efforts.
Marketing, Communications & Budget Management
- Oversee the admissions office, including staff supervision and daily operations.
- Develop and manage the admissions budget in alignment with institutional goals.
- Create and implement a comprehensive admissions marketing plan, including print and electronic communications, publications, mailings, and digital outreach.
- Coordinate all admissions marketing and communications efforts with the Marketing and Development Team to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
- Coordinate the communication of scholarships and financial aid information for all incoming students.
- Collaborate closely with the Development and Business Offices in support of the school’s scholarship and financial aid program needs for new students.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with families regarding tuition, financial aid policies, timelines, and procedures.
Data, Reporting & Planning
- Maintain accurate and relevant statistics on all aspects of admissions and re-enrollment, including inquiries, applications, yield, financial aid, and retention.
- Use data analysis to inform enrollment forecasting, strategic planning, and reporting to school leadership.
- Design and implement long-range enrollment plans aligned with the school’s mission and strategic priorities.
International Student Programs & Compliance
- Coordinate and implement immigration policies for all international applicants and enrolled students.
- Monitor and administer the SEVIS program, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations governing student visa programs.
- Implement and monitor rules and regulations applicable to international students throughout their enrollment.
Professional Responsibilities & External Engagement
- Attend HAIS Admissions Directors meetings and other relevant professional development opportunities.
- Represent Saint Louis School at conferences, gatherings, and community events.
- Advise and support the Development Team in matters related to enrollment, scholarships, and institutional advancement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Institutional Advancement in support of the mission and operations of Saint Louis School.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience in admissions, enrollment management, program management, or a supervisory role within a school or educational setting preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, families, and external partners.
- Ability to build, motivate, and lead a team with professionalism and integrity.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience designing and managing budgets and long-range plans.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Sense of humor, compassion, and commitment to student-centered service.
