The Front of House (FOH) Manager is responsible for overseeing all guest-facing operations. This role leads FOH staff, maintains service standards, and ensures smooth day-to-day operations while upholding the brand’s commitment to quality, hospitality, and the spirit of aloha in a fast-paced, modern diner environment.

Job Type: Full-time – Temp to Hire

Scheduled: Must be able to work flexible AM/PM shifts, including weekends and holidays (overtime if needed).

Pay Rate: $28 - 38 per hour (based on experience)

Location: Waikiki

General Duties:

Oversee daily FOH operations: dining room service, host stand, guest relations
Lead, train, and supervise FOH team members to deliver consistent, high-quality service
Coordinate with BOH to ensure seamless service flow
Uphold company policies, procedures, and service standards

Essential Duties:

Supervise service during operating hours to ensure efficiency and guest satisfaction
Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules based on business needs
Train and mentor staff on service techniques, menu knowledge and hospitality standards
Handle guest complaints and escalations with professionalism and urgency
Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations
Track and report on key performance metrics (labor, sales, guest satisfaction)
Assist in hiring, onboarding and performance evaluations of FOH staff

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

Strong leadership and team management skills
English and Japanese speaking preferred
Knowledge of restaurant operations, service flow, and hospitality standards
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a high-volume environment
Cultural awareness and ability to deliver service aligned with the spirit of aloha

Working Hours/Conditions:

Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
Ability to work extended hours during peak business periods
Fast-paced, high-energy restaurant environment

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours)
Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds (e.g. supplies, trays)
Frequent bending, reaching, and movement throughout the dining area

Requirements:

Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant (Japanese) or supervisory experience (FOH preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business degree preferred
Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Ability to lead diverse teams and foster a positive work culture
Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
