Full Job Description

Interview Requirement: Applicants must be able to attend an in-person interview at our corporate office on Oahu, Hawaii.

Job Summary The Operations Manager will oversee and direct daily operations at the assigned location or department, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and inventory management skills to ensure all warehouse activities align with business and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily warehouse operations and create workload schedules to optimize productivity.
Supervise warehouse staff in unloading, marking, coding, and storing inbound inventory in designated locations.
Direct and monitor workers tasked with selecting outbound orders for timely delivery to customer locations.
Train and develop warehouse staff, ensuring all training programs remain current and relevant to each role.
Maintain accurate inventory control, conducting regular audits and ensuring compliance with inventory processes.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes for assigned areas, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring excellent customer service.
Maintain detailed records to document the condition of inbound and outbound freight, including damages and special handling instructions.
Promote teamwork and collaboration across departments, fostering positive working relationships with staff and management.
Counsel employees on performance, behavior, and work expectations to encourage a productive work environment.
Adapt to flexible work schedules to meet business demands and customer expectations.
The listed functions/tasks are a primary base set of functions/tasks that must be performed in addition to any other that is necessary but not listed. The list is intended to include the core functions that must be performed, but cannot include all the additional details necessary tasks on a microcosm basis.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, including OSHA/HIOSH and DOT/FMCSA requirements where applicable
Oversee incident reporting, safety practices, and adherence to Company safety policies

Qualifications and Requirements

Education/ Experience: College degree or equivalent working experience is required.
Supervisory Experience: Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
Operational Knowledge: Strong understanding of warehouse operations, processes, and inventory management.
Experience working in a DOT-regulated environment, including familiarity with FMCSA regulations (Hours of Service, driver compliance, safety standards, and transportation operations)
Customer Service: Ability to deliver excellent customer service with strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening) through email, phone, and in-person interactions.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to learn and operate client-specific systems. Experience using a WMS is preferred.
Detail-Oriented: Highly organized with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and resolve operational challenges effectively.
Dependability: Reliable, responsible, and dedicated to fulfilling work obligations on time.
Integrity: Upholds honesty, ethical behavior, and professionalism in all actions and decisions.
Team Player: Cooperative, supportive, and able to foster a positive work environment.
Self-Control: Maintains composure and professionalism in high-pressure or challenging situations.
Flexibility: Willing to work a flexible schedule based on business demands.
