Summary

New Venture Research Corporation (NVRC) is a leading provider of innovative technology solutions supporting critical defense programs.

We are searching for a motivated Site Operations Associate with a desire to learn and perform a variety of system tasks and coordination. This entry-level associate role is strategically designed to support the Site Lead and Operations Manager with the day-to-day operations of our facility infrastructure while serving as a direct career pipeline into systems engineering and defense technology roles.

In this role, you will keep our daily operations running smoothly by assisting with routine testing, facility checks, escorts, and first-line alarm responses under the direct on-island mentorship of our Site Lead and Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations & Infrastructure Monitoring

Monitor and assist with the day-to-day operation and maintenance of site infrastructure systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and site environmental monitoring systems.
Conduct daily facility walk-throughs, maintain clean operational logs, and ensure facility compliance with established checklists.
Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance sheets, and facility checklists under the direction of the Hawaii Site Lead.

Systems Testing & First-Line Alarm Response

Perform scheduled generator testing, run basic system health checks, and verify systems availability.
Provide coordinated response to initial infrastructure and facility alarms, escalating complex technical issues to the Hawaii Site Lead.
Identify operational risks or facility maintenance needs and propose solutions to strengthen existing infrastructure.

Contractor Coordination & Escorting

Serve as the primary on-site point of contact to greet, coordinate, and escort cleared and uncleared maintenance contractors.
Coordinate with host facility security personnel to ensure all site visitors and service technicians adhere strictly to site security protocols.
Ensure all scheduled maintenance contracts are executed and performed on time.

Documentation & Site Diagrams

Assist in producing and maintaining up-to-date site infrastructure diagrams and facility specification sheets detailing physical layouts.
Help develop detailed After-Action Reports (AARs) for review in the event of any site operational emergency or incident.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Strong individual accountability, self-motivation, and willingness to learn from senior engineers in a close-knit team environment.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, solid written and verbal communication, and the ability to adapt to fast-changing requirements.
Ability to assist with hands-on tasks and a willingness to work on a flexible schedule as required.

Required Education and Length of Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical STEM fields required if seeking full-time employment. If seeking Intern to Full-Time bridge program, must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Information Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related technical disciplines) required.
No formal professional experience required; 1+ years working in a STEM environment with a variety of systems preferred

Travel Requirements

Travel up to 10% may be required.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our contracts with the U.S. federal government and the requirement for a security clearance for this role, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI) security clearance. After the proper clearance level is obtained; the employee must be able to maintain the clearance at the appropriate level for the duration of employment. Candidates with an existing clearance are highly preferred.
