Full Job Description

The Pastry Cook supports the daily operations of the pastry and bakeshop department for both restaurant and banquet service. This role involves preparing baked goods, desserts, and specialty items according to recipes and presentation standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the bakeshop, and assisting in menu execution for events and a la carte dining.

Pastry Cook Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and production of breads, pastries, desserts, and other baked goods for restaurant and banquet functions.
Follow recipes and plating guidelines established by the Executive Pastry Chef.
Ensure all items are prepared with attention to quality, consistency, and presentation.
Support banquet pastry production, including bulk baking and special event desserts.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in the bakeshop and pastry areas.
Properly store and label all ingredients and finished products.
Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering as directed.
Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure smooth service for both restaurant and event operations.
Adhere to all food safety and sanitation policies as required by health regulations and club standards.

Bakery Assistant Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a bakery, pastry kitchen, or similar professional culinary environment.
Basic knowledge of pastry and baking techniques; formal culinary or pastry education preferred.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow direction accurately.
Team-oriented attitude with flexibility to support various kitchen needs.
Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed for club events.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
Work in a warm kitchen environment with ovens and baking equipment.
