Full Job Description

Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for locating and notifying customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone to solicit payment. Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer's account; preparing statements to credit department if customer fails to respond; initiating repossession proceedings or service disconnection; keeping records of collection and status of accounts by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Receives payments and posts amounts paid to customer accounts.

· Responsible for resolving all accounts outstanding, locates and monitors overdue accounts, using computers and a variety of automated systems. Arranges for debt repayment and establishes repayment schedules, based on customers’ financial situations.

· Records information about financial status of customers and status of collection efforts in customer profile.

· Locates and notifies customers of delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or personal visits to solicit payment. Reviews terms and conditions on account with customer.

· Advises customers of necessary actions and strategies for debt repayment.

· Sorts and files correspondence and performs miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering correspondence and writing reports.

· Provides customers with requested billing information such as past invoices, statements, etc. in an effort to collect on the outstanding balance.

· Responsible for documenting in customer profile all actions taken on the account as well as the communication that has transpired.

· Enter appropriate follow-up dates for Collectors reference according to payer and internal requirements.

· Monitor/trace and corrects billing errors and ensure corrections are processed and correct invoices are generated to ensure correct billing and receiving.

· Process changes when the billed amount or expected amount is adjusted and notify appropriate department. *if applicable

· Track results as requested for collections and special accounts as assigned.

· Responsible for meeting the quotas and expectations specified

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excel experience:

· Opening, saving, and creating new files

· Managing sheets

· Formatting cells

· Finding and replacing data

· Sorting data

· Removing data

· Formulas
