Full Job Description

A well-established transportation and logistics company is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher to join our operations team. This position plays a critical role in coordinating freight movements, supporting drivers, and ensuring exceptional service for our customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transportation professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and operational coordination.

Job Summary

The CSR/Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily freight operations, communicating with drivers and customers, monitoring shipments, and ensuring timely and efficient service. Successful candidates will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and prior dispatch experience within the transportation industry.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate freight movements to maximize efficiency and service performance.
Serve as the primary communication link between drivers, customers, and operations personnel.
Monitor shipment status and track deliveries using dispatch and GPS technology.
Resolve transportation-related issues, including delays, service disruptions, and equipment concerns.
Maintain driver schedules and ensure adequate operational coverage.
Communicate shipment updates and delivery information to customers.
Assist with onboarding and training drivers on company technology and procedures.
Process and maintain transportation documentation, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and related paperwork.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable transportation regulations.
Communicate attendance and operational updates to management.
Monitor service performance and assist in identifying opportunities for operational improvement.
Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure seamless freight movement.
Perform general administrative and clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of dispatching and customer service experience within the LTL and/or FTL transportation industry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience with dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, drivers, and team members.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
