Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, hard-working, personable, friendly individual who is able to multitask and be a team player for the position of Patient Service Representative for a busy dermatology practice. Responsibilities include: insurance verification, determine insurance eligibility and benefits; obtain required prior authorizations and referrals; collect patient payments and post payments; communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing issues; answer phone calls and schedule appointments; check-in and check-out patients; manage practice portals and faxes. The Patient Service Representative must maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times. Reliable transportation required. Staff will be asked to rotate between all clinic locations including Memorial City and Heights. The position is for a minimum 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8A - 5P, with cross coverage work on Fridays as needed by the clinic.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Billing Specialist, or in a similar role involving insurance verification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical billing and insurance verification software systems and portals
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive patient information

Skills:
- Proficiency in electronic medical software. Ability to type and record information in the electronic medical record.
- Understanding of medical collection processes, including insurance denials and appeals.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures
