Full Job Description

Part-Time | In Office – Houston, Texas
Wednesday–Friday | 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Additional Saturday or weekday hours may be available
Pay: $15.00–$17.50 per hour, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Senior Tax Preparer / Tax Reviewer to prepare and review individual and business tax returns while providing technical guidance to our growing tax team.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal individual income tax returns, including Form 1040 and supporting schedules
Prepare amended individual returns using Form 1040-X
Prepare and review business returns, including Forms 1120, 1120-S, and 1065
Review tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Analyze financial records, prior-year returns, and supporting tax documents
Identify potential deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities
Research federal tax issues and assist with complex return questions
Provide technical guidance and training to junior tax preparers
Help manage return assignments, deadlines, and workflow
Communicate professionally with clients regarding missing information and tax-return questions

Qualifications

At least two years of professional tax-preparation experience preferred
Experience preparing both individual and business tax returns
Active Enrolled Agent or CPA credential is preferred but not required
Strong understanding of federal tax laws and filing requirements
Experience using Drake, TaxSlayer, or comparable tax software
Strong review, research, and problem-solving skills
Organized, dependable, and capable of meeting deadlines
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
