Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be at the forefront of delivering authentic, high-quality sushi and Japanese cuisine that delights our guests. Your expertise in food preparation, knife skills, and food safety will ensure every dish meets our standards of excellence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry in a lively, fast-paced environment dedicated to fine dining and exceptional service.

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation throughout all food handling processes
Plan and develop menu items that reflect authentic flavors while catering to guest preferences
Source fresh ingredients and manage inventory to ensure quality and freshness in every dish
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Demonstrate expert knife skills for slicing fish, vegetables, and other ingredients efficiently
Uphold cleanliness standards in the sushi station and assist with general kitchen duties as needed

Requirements

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or fine dining setting
Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation regulations
Expertise in sushi preparation techniques, including fish filleting, rice cooking, and presentation skills
Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and catering services is highly desirable
Excellent knife skills combined with a keen eye for detail in food presentation
Background in the food industry with relevant culinary experience in Japanese cuisine or related fields
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency
Strong communication skills and team-oriented attitude to foster a positive kitchen environment
