POST CLOSING ASSOCIATE 1 - CLEAR LAKE, HOUSTON, TX

POST-CLOSING ASSOCIATE – JOB # 39-26

All correspondence must refer to a specific job number.

The Post-Closing Division handles all aspect of a loan once loan documents are signed, including funding, lien perfection and subsequent release, maintenance, billing, escrow, insurance and financial exception tracking, and reporting. Each Post-Closing Associate will have focus on a primary function but will be knowledgeable and assist as needed with all post-closing tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Funding and Lien Perfection/Release Desk:

Review executed loan packages and advance requests (electronic and hard copy as applicable), and fund complete packages according to approved instructions.
Identify exceptions/tickler items at funding and attentively work to cure.
Process post-closing filing of collateral documentation, request indexing and create keep files.
Prepare collateral release packets for approval and processing.
Assist with participation loan portfolio tasks as requested.
Complete all other maintenance and reporting as required and requested.

Exception Desk:

Review new loans booked to the system to ensure all required insurance and financial data is indexed and tracked properly. Maintain core system and reporting for same as updates occur.
Review and input all insurance received and communicate with officers, insurance companies and third-party monitoring firm to maintain accurate records and resolve issues.
Mail all required notices to customers, and clearly and regularly communicate all force-placed insurance activities to all parties involved.
Upon exhibiting mastery in this area, assist with flood insurance approval for new loans.

Escrow Desk:

Calculate escrow information on affected new loans and renewals. Input and maintain customer loan escrow data on mortgage loans.
Order tax information on all escrow accounts.
Make disbursements as appropriate for payment of taxes and insurance for escrow customers.
Issue required escrow analysis in a timely manner, at least every 12 months.
Order new coupon books as needed.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete all daily tasks adhering to applicable regulation, policy, and procedures.
Loan maintenance as requested.
Process and maintain reports as needed.
Variety of clerical duties including answering phones, ordering supplies, scanning, indexing, verifying, maintaining various logs, etc.
Provide backup support for various department functions.
Assist with audit/inventory projects as requested by the Loan Operations Manager.
All other duties and projects necessary to support the goals and objectives of the Loan Operations Department.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred and/or related work experience.

Minimum Experience: 1-year banking experience or related field.

Skills and Abilities: Must be detail-oriented, organized, proficient with Microsoft applications (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.), have a general understanding of loan documentation and good communication skills.
