Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations and ensure the accurate, timely processing of employee compensation. This role is vital in maintaining compliance with employment laws, managing payroll systems, and supporting our human resources initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to payroll management, possess strong organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in optimizing workforce management processes and fostering positive employee relations through precise payroll administration.

Duties

Oversee multi-state, end-to-end payroll processing using Workday, ADP to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Manage benefits administration, including employee benefits enrollment, FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) tracking, workers' compensation claims, and regulatory compliance management.
Lead payroll audits and data collection efforts to verify data entry accuracy and support Excel data analysis for reporting purposes.
Ensure adherence to employment & labor law, HR legal compliance and affirmative action planning requirements across all payroll activities.
Collaborate with HR teams on talent acquisition, employee orientation, performance management, and training & development initiatives to align payroll processes with organizational goals.
Handle complex issues related to employee relations, conflict management, and workforce management strategies while providing exceptional communication skills support.

Experience

Proven experience in HR department functions with a focus on payroll processing.
Extensive knowledge of employment law in talent management and HR legal compliance standards across diverse jurisdictions.
Demonstrated expertise in using HR systems like Workday, Kronos, Paychex, Taleo, Paylocity, or similar platforms for payroll and HRIS functions.
Strong background in data entry, Excel data analysis, and reporting to inform strategic planning and organization design decisions.
Experience managing benefits administration programs including FMLA tracking, workers' compensation claims, and affirmative action planning.
Familiarity with recruiting tools such as ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), iCIMS or Lever for seamless integration with payroll operations.
Exceptional communication skills combined with administrative experience necessary for effective employee relations and training initiatives.
