Our team is committed to delivering exceptional commercial flooring solutions while creating a positive, professional work environment.

Position Overview

Architectural Floors is seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented commercial flooring estimator to join our team. This is an entry-level opportunity for a motivated professional who wants to build a long-term career in commercial construction.

In this role, you will support the estimating and project management teams by reviewing plans and specifications, preparing material takeoffs and cost estimates, assisting with bid proposals, and coordinating with vendors, installers, and project managers. You will receive hands-on training and mentorship from experienced team members while developing the technical and business skills needed to succeed in the commercial construction industry.

Responsibilities

● Review construction drawings, blueprints, finish schedules, and technical specifications to identify flooring scope and material requirements.

● Perform material takeoffs and assist in preparing accurate, competitive project estimates.

● Use estimating software to develop estimates and organize project information.

● Prepare bid proposals, spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

● Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain pricing, evaluate proposals, and identify best-value options.

● Assist project managers with project planning, scope clarification, and quantity verification.

● Conduct site visits as needed to verify field conditions, review project progress, and support accurate estimating.

● Maintain organized and accurate estimating files, bid logs, pricing information, and project records.

Qualifications

● Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; prior construction, flooring, estimating, or project coordination experience is helpful but not required.

● Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, specifications, and finish schedules, or a strong willingness to learn.

● Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving ability, and comfortable working with numbers.

● Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

● Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work professionally with team members, installers, clients, and vendors.

● Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

● Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

● Current enrollment in, or completion of, an associate or bachelor’s degree program in construction management, business, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with a high school diploma or GED and relevant work experience are also welcome to apply.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
