Full Job Description

NDD Design is a premier Design-Build firm specializing in luxury residential and commercial projects throughout Houston and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Coordinator to work closely with senior leadership in the technical development of construction documentation, permitting, and coordination of our projects.

This is a highly technical, detail-oriented position responsible for translating design direction into comprehensive, accurate, permit-ready construction documents and managing the permitting and approval process.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience preparing construction drawings, managing municipal permitting, coordinating with consultants, and working on high-end residential and commercial projects. They should have a thorough understanding of building codes, zoning requirements, construction methods, and local municipality requirements, as well as the professional communication skills necessary to work effectively with city officials, plan reviewers, engineers, consultants, and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop comprehensive construction documents and drawings.

· Prepare and maintain accurate, coordinated drawing sets through design development, permitting, revisions, and construction

· Research and interpret local building codes, zoning requirements, ordinances, and permitting requirements

· Manage the permitting process from initial application through approval and permit issuance

· Prepare permit applications, supporting documentation, revisions, resubmittals, and responses to plan review comments

· Serve as the primary point of contact with city planning, zoning, permitting, building, and other municipal departments; communicate professionally with plan reviewers and municipal officials

· Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and other engineering and design consultants to ensure complete and coordinated project documentation

· Review consultant drawings and identify and resolve conflicts or missing information

· Conduct site visits to ensure drawings accurately reflect existing conditions and project requirements

· Coordinate with the construction team throughout the project and provide technical support, drawing clarification, and documentation as needed

· Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail

· Proactively identify potential permitting, documentation, coordination, or construction issues and work with the appropriate parties to resolve them

Required Skills and Experience

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture – REQUIRED

· 5+ years of professional experience working on luxury residential and commercial projects – REQUIRED

· Demonstrated experience preparing detailed construction documents and managing municipal permitting from application through approval – REQUIRED

· Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning requirements, and construction methods, with the ability to research and incorporate them into technical documents – REQUIRED

· Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit – REQUIRED

· Strong ability to read, interpret, coordinate, and produce technical construction drawings – REQUIRED

· Experience coordinating with engineering and design firms, consultants, and municipal officials

· Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Professional, confident, and polished communication style

· Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a studio setting, contributing seamlessly to team efforts
