Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this lead clinician role, you will balance direct clinical care with operational leadership and supervisory duties:

Clinical Leadership & Operations

Staff Supervision & Mentorship: Serve as a supervisor, mentor, and educator to Counselors, Counselor Interns.

Scheduling & Coverage: Coordinate counselor schedules, ensure adequate coverage across shifts, and facilitate scheduling changes as needed.

Quality & Compliance: Serve as the Quality Control Coordinator (QCC) as requested; monitor compliance with local, state, and federal behavioral health regulations.

Program Development: Review clinical policies and procedures, offering feedback and suggestions for program updates and changes.

Supervisory Administration: Handle supervisory tasks including employee annual reviews, clearance of probationary periods, and initial disciplinary actions (informal discussions and written documentation) in coordination with the Director of Clinical Services.

Outcomes Management: Participate in weekly leadership and clinical review meetings. Assist in developing, monitoring, and supporting client outcome evaluations.

Direct Therapeutic Services

Caseload Management: Carry a select, high-priority caseload of clients (minimum of 4), providing individual and group therapeutic interventions.

Clinical Assessments: Perform screening and comprehensive clinical assessments to develop tailored, empirically supported treatment plans.

Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention in situations requiring immediate psychological treatment.

Discharge Planning: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to facilitate discharge planning across the continuum of care.

Documentation: Ensure all assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans meet Joint Commission and state licensing standards.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education: Master’s degree in a counseling or mental health profession (e.g., Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy).

Licensure: Licensed in the State of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in good standing. Must be able to practice independently.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in evaluating and treating individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Prior clinical leadership or supervisory experience is required.

Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), Microsoft Office suite, and shared workspace applications.
