Accountant

Commerce, MI

Summary:

The accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations through preparation, review, reconciliation, and analysis of financial records and reports. The Accounting Professional will help maintain accurate financial data, reconcile accounts, support month-end activities, and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

The accountant should have at least 2 years of experience in accounting-related roles

Accountant Requirements:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong attention to detail and active listening skills
Critical thinking and analytical ability

Accountant Description:

Monitor, review and verify accounting records and transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
Ensure compliance with internal policies and Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP)
Review and analyze financial reports prior to distribution
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues
Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting processes, reports, and procedures
Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements
Support external auditors during financial audits and tax preparation
Prepare state annual reports
Perform other duties as assigned
