The Prospect is a hotel and lakeside retreat in the Berkshires. Inspired by the Transcendentalists and a love of the great outdoors, The Prospect is a convivial, whimsical welcome to adventure and possibility in Egremont, Massachusetts.

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and energetic Bell Hop to join our hospitality team. As a Bell Hop, you will be responsible for assisting guests with luggage, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring guests have a pleasant and memorable experience during their stay. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel, offering assistance with luggage and other requests.
Escort guests to their rooms, providing them with information about the hotel's amenities and services.
Assist with luggage storage and retrieval, ensuring guests' belongings are handled with care.
Transport guest luggage to and from rooms, meeting areas, or vehicles as needed.
Provide guests with information on hotel services, local attractions, and transportation options.
Assist guests with special requests, such as arranging for transportation, delivering items to rooms, or coordinating with other hotel departments.
Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, ensuring that guests feel comfortable and valued.
Ensure that the lobby and entrance area are clean and presentable at all times.
Monitor and organize luggage storage areas, ensuring items are stored safely and securely.
Assist with valet parking services when necessary.
Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Handle guest complaints and concerns with professionalism and promptly report them to the appropriate department.
Support other hotel staff, such as Front Desk or Housekeeping, when needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs) and assist with other physical tasks as needed.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
A positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for guest service.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Basic knowledge of local attractions and the surrounding area is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs).
Ability to assist guests in and out of vehicles and elevators as necessary.

Compensation

Competitive pay $18 per hour
