ABOUT THE POSITION
The Director of Admissions & Recruiting is responsible for implementing the recruiting and admissions plans for School of Social Work (SSW) programs, which include Bachelor’s in Youth Studies (YoST), onsite and online Master’s in Social Work (MSW), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Work, by attracting high quality candidates to apply to and attend the School of Social Work. The position manages campus visits and plans and hosts recruiting events. The position may travel to recruit prospective students. The position advises candidates interested in the programs, conducts outreach with potential students via phone and email campaigns, meets with walk-in candidates, and responds to general inquiries from prospective students, applicants, and admitted students. The position coordinates MSW and PhD program application process, reviews applications for completeness, and provides ongoing admissions data to program directors. Other tasks include contributing to the planning, implementation, and reassessment of the strategic recruitment and admissions plan for the School of Social Work programs, and management of specific admissions and recruiting projects and events.
The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results-oriented, able to think creatively and implement new initiatives. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and serve as the face of the SSW recruiting. Candidates should have a talent for fostering relationships and providing excellent customer service to students, families, mentors, and other influencers within schools, communities, and organizations from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Work schedule and location: This is a full-time hybrid position. It requires 3 days per week on-campus, two days remote.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $60,000 - $76,000. Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.
Job Responsibilities
Recruiting (35%)

Be the face of SSW student outreach.

Develop and implement strategies to recruit and enroll a diverse and well-qualified student body (YoST, MSW, PhD)

Correspond regularly with prospective students through use of multiple platforms. Advise candidates on degree value, career opportunities, program curriculum features, and application requirements.
- Lead and present at program information sessions for prospective students.

Participate in local recruiting events, such as lunches, coffee chats, education fairs, and other recruiting events on and off campus.
- Participate in regional travel, representing the School of Social Work programs (YoST, MSW, PhD)
- Plan recruitment travels, which can consist of informational lunches, alumni events and/or graduate fairs, and undergraduate major/minor events and transfer fairs

Participate in and support SSW programs social media efforts via recruiting chats, blogs, virtual fairs, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Assist enrollment and yield goals set by the college and faculty of the programs.
- Collaborate with program directors, director of undergraduate studies (DUGS), and director of graduate students (DGS) to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of recruiting activities and events.

Provide support for other recruiting projects as needed.
Admissions (35%)

Collaborate with program directors to determine admission criteria for each program

Coordinate MSW programs application process, correspond with applicants at every stage of the application process, continuing to recruit and sell the program.

Facilitate PhD program applications through Slate process.

Review transcripts of applicants applying for advanced standing to MSW program and determine applicants who require additional coursework.

Participate in the development of admissions and post-admission related materials and communications for newly admitted students.

Collaborate with program directors to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Administrative & Leadership (20%)

Chair the SSW Admissions & Recruiting Committee

Plan and participate in MSW Program new student orientation
-
Coordinate updates of program websites, brochures, social media, and other communication channels

Supervise graduate assistants/student workers as needed.

Participate in school-wide activities and committees as appropriate.

Represent the school at internal and external events.
Data Management (5%)

Work with graduate school to build queries to meet individual program needs through the recruitment and admission process

Coordinate with Graduate Admissions Office in the management of admissions and prospective data systems.
Other (5%)
