Full Job Description

Wartburg in Westchester, NY, offers integrated, comprehensive senior care services. Unlike conventional retirement communities, we provide a wide range of services to both residents and people in their own homes. From independent, assisted living and award-winning nursing home care to rehabilitation, home care and adult day care services, and caregiver support.

The RN Manager provides unit-based staff and clinical oversight to his or her assigned units. He or she is responsible for providing supervision to all unit staff; direct nursing care to residents; completing comprehensive shift rounds; ensuring communication during inter-shift report; and assisting with the admission and discharge of residents. The ideal incumbent will possess both strong clinical and managerial skills. A high degree of empathy and interpersonal awareness is critical, as is the ability to take initiative and act in accordance with Wartburg philosophies and standards.

RN Manager responsibilities:

Provides direct nursing care according to professional standards, facility policy, and physician orders.
Operates the unit with a high degree of fiscal responsibility.
Participates in the admission and discharge of residents and performs rounds.
Provides clinical supervision is required as well as supervision to direct reports.
Maintains and develops work -related knowledge and skills through continuous learning activities, attendance at in-services and workshops, etc.
Completes special projects/ tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirements:

A current RN License is required.
3-5 years previous experience in a sub-acute or long-term care setting is required, as is previous management experience.
Preference given to those with management experience in a long-term care setting.
