Full Job Description

Lead Electrician

Location: OhioJob Type: Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Lead Electrician to join our growing company. This is a key position for someone who is technically strong, dependable, professional, and capable of taking ownership of electrical work while leading a small crew.

The Lead Electrician will handle residential and commercial service calls and projects, troubleshoot electrical issues, work directly with customers, prepare estimates, recommend and sell additional work when appropriate, and help train and lead apprentices.

This position will also play an important role in our growing Generac generator business.

Responsibilities

Perform residential and commercial electrical service calls Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems Complete electrical repairs, installations, service upgrades, and panel upgrades Lead residential and commercial electrical projects from start to finish Lead, train, and provide direction to apprentices Read and interpret electrical plans and specifications Communicate professionally with customers and explain recommended solutions Identify additional electrical work and prepare estimates Discuss pricing and confidently sell recommended work when appropriate Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and to code Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Sales & Estimating

Sales and estimating are an important part of this position. The Lead Electrician will regularly interact with customers, identify electrical needs and opportunities, and help generate additional work for the company.

Prepare estimates for electrical repairs, installations, service upgrades, panel upgrades, generator installations, and other recommended work Identify additional electrical work while performing service calls and projects Clearly explain recommended work and solutions to customers Discuss pricing confidently and professionally Present options and recommend solutions based on the customer’s needs Follow up on estimates and opportunities when appropriate Help generate additional revenue through quality service, professional communication, and effective sales Maintain a professional approach to sales without using high-pressure sales tactics

24/7 On-Call Requirement

We are a 24/7 electrical service company, and this position requires on-call availability.

Must be willing and able to respond to emergency service calls outside normal business hours This may include evenings, weekends, and holidays 24/7 on-call availability is a requirement of this position

Generac Generator Work

We are an authorized Generac dealer, and generator work is an important and growing part of our business.

The successful candidate will regularly be involved in selling, delivering, installing, servicing, and maintaining Generac generators and will receive required Generac and generator-specific training to become proficient in:

Generator site visits, estimating, and sales Delivery of generators and related equipment Installation and commissioning of standby generators and automatic transfer switches Generator startups and testing Routine service and maintenance Troubleshooting and warranty work Customer education and support

Previous generator experience is a plus, but not required.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who combines strong electrical ability with leadership, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Experienced in residential and/or commercial electrical work Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Strong understanding of the NEC Capable of leading electrical work and supervising apprentices Comfortable handling frequent service calls and working directly with customers Comfortable preparing estimates, discussing pricing, and selling electrical work Able to take ownership of jobs without constant supervision Reliable, punctual, accountable, and committed to quality work Professional and respectful with customers and coworkers Takes initiative and can independently solve problems Coachable and able to follow management direction Willing to learn and become proficient in Generac generator systems Valid driver’s license Willing and able to meet the 24/7 on-call requirement
