Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Food & Beverage Manager with a strong kitchen and bar management background to oversee the daily operations of Zion Canyon Hot Springs cafe. This role is essential in ensuring smooth operations, guest satisfaction, and a high-quality food and beverage experience. The Food & Beverage Manager will oversee staff, manage food and beverage operations, maintain quality standards, and drive service excellence across all culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities
Food & Beverage Management:
- Oversee and manage all food and beverage operations at Zion Canyon Hot Springs, including menu planning, inventory control, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Manage ordering, stocking, and inventory of food, beverages, and kitchen supplies, ensuring efficient cost control and minimizing waste.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient service, including optimizing staff workflows, maximizing kitchen productivity, and ensuring smooth service during peak times.
- Monitor food safety and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment in kitchens, dining areas, and bars.
- Oversee the daily operation of the Food & Beverage department.
- Ensure the facility operates smoothly, efficiently, and in line with company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across all food service areas, including kitchens, dining spaces, and bars.
- Represent the company with a positive and professional image.
- Complete all tasks or duties as they are assigned.
Guest Experience:
- Maintain a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere for all guests.
- Ensure an outstanding guest experience by delivering high-quality food and beverage services in a timely and professional manner.
- Address guest concerns or complaints related to food and beverage offerings, ensuring quick resolution to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Drive upselling and promote menu items to enhance guest engagement and maximize revenue.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Menu Development: Collaborate with chefs and mixologists to develop seasonal menus that highlight fresh, local ingredients and innovative culinary trends.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing food and beverage team, fostering a culture of professionalism and hospitality
- Lead by example and provide hands-on support during peak hours.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance the overall team member experience.
- Employee development through goal setting, accountability, discipline, coaching and annual reviews.
Financial & Administrative Duties:
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures.
- Control costs, and optimize revenue through innovative pricing, menu engineering, and inventory control.
- Perform and lead monthly inventories.
- Support revenue-generating initiatives, including events, promotions, and memberships.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and direction of the company through regular manager meetings, retreats, capital project planning and an eye for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of prior restaurant leadership experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Experience with menu planning, cost control, and food safety compliance is a plus
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and committed to cleanliness and food safety.
- Experience in hospitality, resort, or wellness settings is a plus
- ServSafe Manager Certified or willing to complete course upon hire.
- Previous knowledge or experience working for a facility with a Utah bar alcohol license is a plus.
- Experience with restaurant and inventory management software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Work independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to work well with all levels of management, executive leadership and support staff and employees.

- Ability to learn all systems and procedures and become the point person for troubleshooting problems.

- Knowledge of facility / kitchen maintenance and operational best practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Some travel is required for retreats, training, and development.
- Expected to be on call and available to assist in emergency situations.
Essential Physical Functions
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while overseeing front- and back-of-house operations.
- Must be able to lift and carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires the ability to move frequently between kitchen, dining, bar, and poolside service environments.
- Must be able to use hands and arms for computer work, documentation, and operational tasks.
- Visual and auditory ability sufficient to monitor staff performance, guest activity, and safety conditions.
Standard Work Environment Conditions
Employees may be required to work in environments that include:
- Indoor and outdoor resort settings
- Proximity to chlorine-treated pools, saltwater pools, and mineral hot springs pools
- Exposure to humidity, steam, moisture, and wet or slippery surfaces
- Variable temperatures, including heat from hot springs and outdoor sun exposure
- Exposure to cleaning agents, pool chemicals, and food service chemicals (role-dependent)
- High guest traffic, noise, and fast-paced service conditions
