Job Summary

Want a job where you’re not stuck doing the same thing every day?

Inked Signs & Apparel is looking for a dependable, motivated Shop Helper / Front Desk Assistant to join our growing team in Hutchinson.

This is an entry-level position, so previous sign or printing experience is not required. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.

One minute you may be helping a customer at the front counter, and the next you could be preparing signs, organizing materials, helping with production, packaging an order, or assisting our team with a vehicle wrap or installation project.

If you like variety, enjoy working with your hands, and want to learn how custom signs, graphics, wraps, decals, and apparel are produced, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Be DoingFront Desk & Customer Service

Greet customers and make them feel welcome when they enter the shop
Answer incoming phone calls and help direct customer questions
Assist customers picking up completed orders
Gather basic information from customers requesting quotes or new projects
Help keep customers updated on their orders when needed
Maintain a clean, professional, and organized front counter and showroom
Assist with basic data entry and administrative tasks

Shop & Production Assistance

Help keep the production shop clean and organized
Receive, organize, and stock materials and supplies
Package and prepare completed orders for customer pickup
Weed, tape, trim, and prepare vinyl graphics and decals
Help prepare signs, banners, apparel, and other products for production
Clean and prepare vehicles or surfaces before graphics are installed
Assist installers and production staff when an extra set of hands is needed
Help load and unload materials, signs, and finished products
Perform basic quality-control checks before orders leave the shop
Learn how our equipment, materials, and production processes work

Can stay productive without needing constant supervision
Takes pride in keeping their workspace clean and organized
Is comfortable switching between customer service and hands-on shop work
Works well as part of a team
Has basic computer skills
Can safely lift and move materials commonly used in a sign and print shop

Experience

No sign industry experience is required.

Experience in any of the following is helpful, but not necessary:

Customer service
Retail
Office or front desk work
Construction or trades
Automotive work or detailing
Printing or graphics
Sign production
Vinyl graphics
Screen printing or apparel production
Shipping, receiving, or warehouse work

We are much more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude than someone who already knows the sign industry.

Inked Signs & Apparel is a locally owned sign and graphics company based in Hutchinson, Kansas. We help businesses get noticed through custom signs, vehicle wraps, graphics, decals, banners, apparel, and other visual branding solutions.

We are a busy, hands-on shop where every day can bring a different project. Our goal is to produce work we are proud to put our name on while providing customers with great service from the beginning of their project through completion.

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Daytime hours. Specific schedule will be discussed during the interview.

Compensation

Pay will be based on experience, skills, and overall fit for the position.
