Job Summary
Jones Williams Fuhrman Gourley is seeking an experienced legal assistant to provide excellent client services and support. We are looking for a full-time, in-office assistant to help with a fast-paced and well-established civil litigation practice, insurance defense, and real estate litigation. The candidate should have experience with drafting, formatting, and reviewing documents, scheduling appointments, calendaring file reminders, editing, handling client relations, and providing litigation support (to include filing, discovery, and interacting with court staff). Attention to detail and organization skills are mandatory.

Job duties include handling administrative matters related to the above practice areas, including preparing and filing pleadings, saving and copying documents, editing documents, preparing documents related to litigation and formatting and editing documents for presentation to the client. Job Description

Job Title: Legal Assistant
Department: Secretarial
Reports to: Supervising Attorneys / Office Administrator
FLSA: Non-exempt

Summary: Primarily responsible for the support of assigned Attorneys in all areas of law firm practice. The Legal Assistant will calendar, produce documents, and provide accurate and timely communication to clients. The Legal Assistant will also manage other projects as needed or required.

Essential Functions:

1. Typing and assisting with the preparation of documents as required by Attorneys.

2. Accurate and timely calendaring of any events requiring same.

3. Accurate and timely filing of all documentation within appropriate folders, keeping all current and accessible.

4. Maintain communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, etc. as directed by Attorneys.

5. Prepare correspondence

6. Coordinate client meetings and interface regularly with clients to assist as directed by Attorneys.

Coordinate depositions at the request of Attorneys, securing court reporters and handling all related details.

7. Preparation of all mailings and overnight deliveries for supervising Attorneys.

8. Provide assistance to other Legal Assistants as needed.

9. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· At least 2 years of legal assistant experience or equivalent

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and perform under deadlines

· High attention to detail

· Ability to work well in a team environment
