The Role

As an Assistive Technology Specialist, you’ll be a trusted AAC consultant for Speech-Language Pathologists and teams across the Mountain West region including Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota. Your focus is to listen first, understand each client’s communication needs, and help clinicians identify the right AAC solutions including devices, software, and access/mounting options. You’ll also help professionals reduce barriers by connecting them to Forbes AAC resources (including funding and tech support) so they can spend more time on clinical care and implementation.

Required: Speech Language Pathologist

What You’ll Do

· Build professional relationships with SLPs and key stakeholders across schools, clinics, hospitals, and private practices.

· Consult with AAC professionals to problem-solve feature matching, access methods, mounting, and real-world implementation needs.

· Provide beginner-to-advanced AAC education and training (in-person in SC; virtual in GA).

· Coordinate informational meetings and follow-ups with consistency and care (phone, email, text, virtual meetings, and in-person).

· Document outreach, meetings, and next steps in CRM tools, so nothing falls through the cracks.

· Partner with internal teams to resolve questions quickly and create an excellent experience for clinicians and families.

· Maintain HIPAA/FERPA compliance and handle sensitive information with integrity.

Who We Are Looking For

· Speech-Language Pathologist (required).

· 3-5 years supporting individuals who use AAC in schools and/or clinical settings (alternative access experience is a plus).

· Conscientious self-starter who takes ownership, follows through, and keeps commitments to clinicians and families.

· Strong consultative communication: active listening, clinical reasoning, and the ability to explain options clearly.

· Confident presenter and trainer who can tailor education to different audiences.

· Organized and responsive: you keep relationships moving forward with timely follow-through.

· Comfort with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms; CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.) experience is a bonus.

· Proficiency with Zoom, Teams, or other virtual platforms.

Physical, Time, Presence, & Other Requirements:

Physical: Onsite travel to customer accounts (privates, school districts, hospital settings).

Time: Full-time, Exempt employees work an average of 40 to 45 hours per week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.

Presence: The Assistive Technology Specialist position is both onsite and remote in your home office. Onsite presence is expected throughout the state of South Carolina. Specialist will also be responsible for covering Georgia remotely.
