Full Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

The objective of this role is to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits, budgets, and more. The accounting specialist will ensure complete, accurate and systematic accounting records of receipts and disbursements by performing complex clerical and bookkeeping tasks using standard accounting practices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to purchases, A/P, A/R, shipping, documentation, and validity of inventory. The accounting specialist monitors COGS and provides feedback to management.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties:

· Perform and maintain all aspects of financial and fiscal responsibility.

· Manage A/P and A/R, including collecting payments and identify potential risks of non- payment.

· Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly, verify deposits and address bank inquiries in a timely manner.

· Post journal entries and maintain general ledger.

· Prepare financial statements, monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements.

· Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly gross margins, perform month-end closing and inventory.

· Perform accounting, analysis & reporting of manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, overhead, & freight.

· Provide reports to management regarding the financial status of the company including trends, opportunities, budgets, and cashflow forecast to assist with production decisions.

· Process weekly payroll. Prepare tax documents and payments, weekly, monthly, quarterly, including annually such as W2’s and 1099’s.

· Reporting & analysis of inventory turnover, including highlight of slow moving, non-conforming & obsolete parts

· Fixed asset accounting, including physical counts & tracking asset utilization.

· Comply and stay up to date with financial policies and regulations.

· Create, provide, and update detailed work instructions for all complex duties performed.

· Provide clerical support such as answering phones, distributing mail, taking bank deposits to the bank and preparing documents.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· 3 to 5 years or more accounting experience

· Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures

· Associates degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant experience

· Hands on experience with accounting software; knowledge of SYSPRO ERP

and BambooHR software is a plus

· Advanced MS Office Skills

· Personable and Professional – Team player with collaborative mindset

· Solid technology, organizational, and analytical skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Manufacturing background preferred but not required

Schedule:

Job Type: Full Time
Typical work week is Monday - Thursday, some Fridays as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Will require basic PPE -safety glasses, close toed shoes and ear protection when entering operations.
